Tests and results

If you have had bloods taken or hand in a sample at the request of your GP or because you attend one of our clinics, you will be able to check your results on-line by registering with our online service.

You can also check results by calling our reception team from 1pm-4pm daily. When calling the surgery, press option 1 to discuss your results.

If you are asked to handle in a sample at our reception desk, please ensure this is dropped off no later than 4.30pm - all our samples are collected and taken to the pathology lab in Durham (unless otherwise stated)

The normal time scale for blood and urine sample results to come back to the surgery can be from 24 hours of the blood/sample being taken. However most results do take 3-4 days to come back from the lab, some results can take up to 14 days or longer to come back, it will depend on the type of test. If you have any queries regarding this ask at time of the test being taken.

X-ray and scan Results

X-ray and scan results normally take 7-10 days to be returned to the surgery.

Swabs and faecal results

Please allow 7-10 days for results for these type of tests, depending on the type of test, this time scale maybe longer.
